The Power of Intention
“If there is something tonight that you really want in this world, then experience in imagination what you would experience in the flesh were you to realize your goal, and then deafen your ears, and blind your eyes to all that denies the reality of your assumption.” – Neville, 1948

When you intend for something to transpire in your life's situations, whether it be in the
area of health, financial abundance, or relationships, it is a clear message to the Universe
that you have a specific goal in mind. On the other hand, a wish comes across as needy,
grasping. Take a look at the following statements -
I wish I could go on a vacation
and
I intend to go on a vacation
The WISH statement comes across as weak and helpless, followed by BUT's such as
perhaps, but I don't have the time, or the money, etc.
The INTENTION statement however, speaks strongly of a specific desire that will be
manifested.
Words are important....as they reflect your emotions, and your emotions are what cause
your vibrations, and your vibrations are what attract similar vibrations back to you to be
included in your experience.
So what gives rise to an intention or desire then? More often than not, observing contrast
gives birth to desire. Let's take an example.
You are driving to work and your car breaks down (for the 10th time). This causes you to
get late. You feel frustrated and annoyed. You are not happy with the current situation.
This contrast gives birth to a desire to own a new car.
Now that you know you would like to have a new car, let's use a method that helps you
make up your intention list.
First, let's get specific about WHAT YOU WANT in the new car. Sometimes, it is easier to
make a list of everything that you do not want - perhaps because of your own experience
or other's. This exercise will help you greatly to get really specific about what you would
like. The more specific you can get, the more you can count on getting what you REALLY
want.
Let me give you an example - If you said " I want a new car" and left it at that, and you did
get what you asked for - a new car that has manufacturing defects, that can seat only 2 (
but you have a family of four), would you be satisfied? I thought not.
Our DO NOT WANT list may look like this
I do not want a car that
1. breaks down on me
2. is expensive to maintain
3. does not have leather
4. does not have air conditioning
Now, change the list above to specify what you DO WANT
I want a car that
1. functions smoothly always
2. is easily affordable to maintain
3. has leather seats
4. has all options included
5. is new
6. is a German make...
get the idea?
Get really specific if you know what you want. Why?
Because when you ASK, believe that IT IS GIVEN.
Do this exercise for all areas in your life. The first step is to ASK.
Enjoy the journey.
